Coho Salmon

 (Oncorhynchus Kisutch)

Coho Salmon are also known as Silver Salmon or "Silvers". Coho Salmon are pound for pound the toughest fish in the river. When the bite is on and a Coho hits, you are in for an incredible fight!

In mid to late September, when the water is low, Coho first slip into the Clackamas River.  At first, the bite may be hard to find, but soon, the rain will begin to fall and the river to rise, these hardy fish will make their dash up river and slam just about anything you throw at them. They will attack with such voracious vitality -- amazingly powerful -- you will instantly understand what strength and determination is all about. Fighting one of these silver brutes to the bank will be an epic test of tenacity and tackle. For you meat eaters, the reward is one of the tastiest fish on the planet.

Natural High fishing begins targeting these fish towards the end of September.  Call early to book a trip or get on the list to be notified when the 'bite' is on! We will mainly fish for these bruisers on the Clackamas River near Oregon City
.
